Coming up for January 2013!! Happy New Year!

First off, Happy New Year!

(That's ^where we walked around all evening)

I am really looking forward to this year! I talked about what's coming up a little bit already, but I'll go in more detail because there's a GIVEAWAY coming up!!!! Woot woot!

The Green Resolutions Giveaway Hop runs from January 16th to 30th, and will be full of lots of eco-friendly items for the whole family to help green up your lifestyle!  I just checked and as of today there are 40 blogs signed up so this event will be BIG!

This is the first time (eek) I'm hosting a giveaway where I'm giving away my own prize package.  I will be giving away Glory Bee Body and Honey's Monkey Butt Balm (see review here) and a diaper too of course!!! Though I can't decide what kind...hmmm...have to think about that one.

I will also start regular stockings soon.  I'll keep you updated!

Glory Bee Body & Honey Monkey Butt Healing Ointment~Review~

Molly from Glory Bee Body and Honey so kindly sent me her Monkey Butt Healing Ointment to review.

Molly is a mommy to three little ones and has a background in herbology.  Like me, she was unable to complete her college studies due to pregnancy, but that didn't stop her! Molly uses the Bible verse Isaiah 61:3 as her inspiration:
"To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Molly says it best, "It was clear to me that God was aiming me in a new direction. After installing a few beehives He began to inspire in me a buzzing of new ideas and formulations to try. I have been blessed to be able to use my knowledge of herbs and bees to make high quality body care. It is my desire that the Lord be Glorified, hence the name 'Glory Bee.'"

This is chocked full of good stuff that is all designed to help heal and protect your little one's bum-bum.

"...it is made with healing herbs like comfrey, known as the knitting herb because it draws skin together to heal. Calendula that soothes and heals and lanolin which protects and creates a barrier."

AND, Molly and her husband harvest many of the herbs from the mountains, and the oils she uses are organic! How awesome is that?

I love this product!
It has a slightly sweet herbal smell which is right up my alley.  I put some on my hand when I first got it, and it rubbed right in, and I couldn't stop smelling my hand!

Let me tell you, a little bit goes a long way!

I've been using this on Bibbit (19 months old) almost exclusively in his diaper area and it's done a great job of keeping his diaper rash down.  I also used it on his dry winter skin, arms and legs, and it totally softened up his skin.

There's so many other uses for it too: eczema,  minor abrasions & scrapes,
I even used it a few times as an overnight facial moisturizer with great results!

I'm happy to announce that 1 person will win a 1oz glass jar ($8) of Monkey Butt Healing Ointment as part of the Green Resolutions Giveaway Hop January 16th-30th 2013!

Green Resolutions Giveaway

Come back here in January for a chance to win this great product!

All opinions are 100% my own. I received this product in exchange for my review.

Fall Cloth Diaper Drive for Appalachia, Giveaway & Auction #LoveAppalachia

#LoveAppalachia

We all know that the initial costs of cloth diapering can be daunting, though it has been proven time and time again to save money and resources in the long-run.

Please support this great cause to help provide impoverished families with cloth diapers, and enter for your chance to win some great cloth diapering prizes, including your choice of a Lamb Babies diaper from the Etsy shop, as well!

Welcome to the Fall 2012 Cloth Diaper Drive Giveaway & Fundraising Event hosted by Leettle Baby!

Last spring, with your help, we were able to send 30 diaper covers and 30 cotton prefolds to the DFW Cloth Diaper Project. This time around we would love to make an even greater impact. For this event, we would love help the Tomahawk Sustainment Mission in their efforts to expand their cause to begin a cloth diapering program that will benefit the people living in the poverty-stricken Appalachia region of Kentucky. The founder, Terri, has estimated that there were 500 children that could benefit from this program.
DID YOU KNOW? The Appalachia region covers 13 different U.S. states, encompasses 420 counties and includes 25 million people? Sadly, some of the most distressed areas have 150% poverty rate over the average U.S. rate.

Why Cloth Diapers?
As many of us parents know, diapering our children can cost us a fortune. According to the Real Diaper Association, using disposables costs a family about $66 dollars per month, and about $1,600 for the first two years. Now imagine if you had to decide if your family was going to eat or spend money on buying more diapers. Some families even have to re-use their babies DISPOSABLE diapers because they cannot afford to buy more. The wonderful thing about cloth diapers is that you do not have to worry about purchasing more diapers and you can always have clean ones readily available! With this diaper program, these families will not have to spend a penny on diapers for their children.

In addition, disposable diapers are not compostable and are estimated to take 250 - 500 years to break down! Now imagine if you did not have a trash service to remove those diapers (like some of those living in the Appalachia area)...where would they go? Cloth diapers provide a more sanitary option to the environment and reduce landfill waste.

How You Can Help
A donation in any amount is greatly appreciated and is tax deductable.
There are quite a few other ways that you can help us get as many of these precious children cloth diapered as possible, just click HERE.

As a thank you for spreading the word about this cloth diapering program, Leettle Baby and a team of amazing bloggers are going to reward you with an awesome giveaway...with the opportunity to win one of the two cloth diaper prize packages!

Fall Diaper Drive for Appalachia!!!

When my hubbins and I found out we were prego, we were both college students, and pretty much poor. As someone who likes to use eco-friendly products, I wanted to use cloth diapers, but the initial cost was daunting, though I realized I would save money in the long run.

My sister bought us a great starter stash, and I wouldn't have been able to cloth diaper without her generosity! So, I know how important it is to help out others who are in need!
